dalkey daytrip!

on a rainy afternoon last week we went to visit the seaside town of dalkey, we had lunch in town and then walked out to see the water. the rain and cold didn't stop the locals from jumping in!

howth (rhymes with boat)

earlier this week we jumped on the train to visit the small fishing village of howth, to catch up with old friends; the rowe family. we visited deer park, the site of howth castle, as well as having a seafood lunch and tour of the town. down by the docks we saw a grey seal hoping to grab some leftovers off a fishing boat!

over dinner we celebrated the queen's jubilee, complete with themed hats!

reunion

we are having the nicest time in dublin with mum and dad (aka chris and christine). it's so good to be around family again and dublin is proving to be a great city to explore together. we have a full week here and thus far we have explored dublin city on foot and by bus. photos of the sites and our coming day trips to follow.

kew gardens

we have been waiting for the right weather (no rain!) and today we finally visited kew gardens! kew is filled with plants and gardens of the world, as well as some absolutely stunning victorian and contemporary  green houses.

it was so nice to enjoy a day in the sun.
