and it rained!

we planned for a camping roadtrip, what we got was the bed and breakfast tour! we had an amazing time driving through scotland, the weather was wet enough to keep us out of our tent but fine enough for daytime exploring.

we drove from glasgow, through loch lommond to oban. then headed north to fort augustus and the southern end of loch ness. we then made our way west to the isle of skye, where we enjoyed the most spectacular scenery and one night of camping! on our way back south we visited stirling and the william wallace monument, before spending two days exploring edinburgh.

it's been a while between posts. but we've been busy- with a very good excuse!

we enjoyed our last month in the uk with a scotland roadtrip, then a holiday in hong kong, before coming home in time to surprise alice for her 21st birthday! so it's time to catch you up.

going back a while, after mum and dad left us in london, we packed up our bags and headed off on a roadtrip of scotland. we spent our first night in liverpool and then caught up with family before driving to glasgow.

whilst in liverpool we jumped in a black cab and went on a tour that showed us the homes and childhood places of the beatles.

the fattest duck

oh wow.

on wednesday, to celebrate the end our holiday time with mum and dad, we went to the heston blumenthal's the fat duck. it was a solid four hour sitting of fourteen courses, every one was both delicious and theatrical.

what an amazing experience. thank you to tom, alice, steph and craig for the most incredible wedding gift!

san fruttuoso

two and a half hours walking through the italian bushland and we arrived at the tiny bay of san fruttuoso. the bay consists of an old monastery and a handful of lunchspots. we enjoyed the sun and had a beautiful fish lunch before catching the ferry home.

camogli port

we are now very happily settled into camogli, a coastal fishing village in northern italy.  the weather is beautiful, we are staying in the most amazing guesthouse and gelato is appearing on the menu daily. perfection.
